Do men’s lives matter?
Here’s a short definition of feminism: Feminism is a social and political movement advocating for the equality of the sexes, striving to dismantle gender-based discrimination and oppression. Sounds great right? But what if I told you feminism has never been about equality? What if I told you that it’s about all the men’s rights without any responsibilities? Do men’s lives even matter to radical feminists? Stay tuned to see the delusional feminist utopia dismantled.
If you clicked on my post, you are likely to have an opinion on this matter already. Whether you’re triggered by the “ridiculousness” of my initial statements or agree with me, you’ve come to the right place. I’m going to expose the sickening feminist hypocrisy based on the feminist stance (the lack of it I mean) on warfare.
The Historical Roots of Feminism
Feminism as a movement is actually closely tied to WW1; in fact, it might have become possible thanks to the WW1. We can’t avoid a brief history lesson if you want to understand how feminism came to existence but I promise to keep it short.
Here’s a brief history of feminism beginning. It started from suffragettes. Suffragettes were women who advocated for women’s right to vote, primarily in the late 19th and early 20th centuries in the UK. They used various methods, including protests, marches, and civil disobedience, to push for suffrage. Their efforts led to significant advancements in women’s rights around the world.
Suffragettes became really prominent when the majority of young men were fighting in WW1. Women had to take over numerous civilian roles to back up the country’s economy. They had to work extra hours and in shifts to keep the military industry running. Those were harsh conditions indeed so women started advocating for their rights. The main demand was suffrage (the right to vote in political elections) hence the name “suffragettes”.
Feminism and Men’s Rights
Don’t get me wrong there’s absolutely nothing bad about demanding your rights to be respected. In fact, we should all strive to live better lives and it only makes sense that women want as many rights as possible. However, there’s an issue, as women’s rights are often secured at the expense of men’s. Here are a few examples:
- In custody battles, courts prioritize granting custody to mothers over fathers based on traditional gender roles, infringing on fathers’ rights to custody and visitation.
- Affirmative action policies that aim to increase opportunities for women in the workplace or education disadvantage men by giving preference to female candidates, even if they are equally qualified.
- Maternity leave policies that provide extended time off for mothers but not fathers which actually reinforces gender stereotypes and limits men’s ability to take an active role in childcare.
These are examples illustrating situations where efforts to promote or protect women’s rights marginalize or disadvantage men.
Feminism’s Selective Equality
However, there’s a much bigger problem. Remember feminism’s claim to advocate for the equality of the sexes, striving to dismantle gender-based discrimination and oppression? THE problem is the fact that feminists want to get all the men’s rights without taking any responsibilities. It’s not about equality by any means. It’s cherry picking on a colossal scale.
The other day a feminist tried to “enlighten” me with statistics on catcalling – yes, she had precise numbers. When I said that I’d rather experience catcalling on a daily basis than being sent to die in trenches in Ukraine just because I’m a man, she choked on her words. She quickly recovered though, and said: “Since men start wars, they have to fight them”.
She looked so proud of her response until I mentioned a few prominent female rulers who started numerous bloody wars. I named Catherine the Great of Russia, Queen Elizabeth I of England, and Empress Dowager Cixi of China, all of whom sent hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of men to die for their ambitions. This time she had nothing to say.
Stay Away From My Body
Another feminist asked me about my thoughts on abortion. I responded: ”If a woman was raped and had no choice, she should have the right to decide whether to keep the baby. However, if she got pregnant due to not taking precautions, I’m against abortion in that case.” Needless to say, she didn’t like my answer; she wanted me to unconditionally accept a woman’s right to abortion. In turn, I asked her thoughts on the military draft: ‘Why should I stand up for your right to abortion if you don’t even recognize my right to live?” She didn’t even consider it seriously, and just continued complaining about the lack of women’s rights.
Historical Context: Rights of Men and Women
Women indeed didn’t have many rights throughout much of human history, such as the right to vote, which is a shame. But guess who else didn’t have this right? Most men. In fact, it’s always been just a very small group of rich and powerful men who had the right to decide the fate of humankind. Most men have been as powerless as women and suffered as much if not more. Human history is full of wars and the poor men have always been forced to fight wars they didn’t start. It’s always been men who were expected to die first in every war. It’s even happening right now in Ukraine.
The Ukrainian Conflict: When Men’s Lives Don’t Matter
Ukraine is fed up with Russian influence and its “backward” traditionalism. Ukrainians are more than eager to embrace European values, strong and independent feminists are fighting Russian “orcs” alongside Ukrainian men… Wait, what am I talking about?! There are none of them. Literally. Where are all those vociferous feminist fighters for equality? Only crickets can be heard. It’s suddenly not their problem.
They have more important businesses. Isn’t it paramount to raise awareness about catcalling? Advocating for women’s rights for abortion is also way more important than talking about men’s right to live. “My body, my choice” is their slogan. So, women’s bodies belong to them (even if it means killing unborn babies) but men’s bodies belong not to them but to the government. Do men’s lives matter? Certainly not to radical feminists.
Men as Cannon Fodder
It would only make sense if governments used something like “our men our property” as a slogan. Men are literally used like cannon fodder in our sick societies even nowadays. Where are all the feminists claiming that they are fighting for the equality of the sexes, striving to dismantle gender-based discrimination and oppression?
Women are free to move in and out of Ukraine without any restrictions while Ukrainian men between 25 and 60 years old are locked in their country. Those who aren’t fighting on barricades yet, can be mobilized any moment. Some young men managed to flee the country in the first days of the war but the government reacted very quickly and closed the borders to its own citizens.
The Ukrainian Parliament recently passed a significant law concerning military mobilization, which introduces new rules and penalties for those avoiding conscription. The law imposes strict measures on draft evaders, such as bans on leaving the country, asset seizures, and driving prohibitions. Following this legislative change, some EU countries, including Poland, have begun extraditing Ukrainian men who fled mobilization. It does look like men’s lives matter to the Ukrainian government as long as it serves the purpose. Zelensky urgently requires more MANpower to defend the country, yet millions of Ukrainian women, deemed as strong and capable as men, remain overlooked.
The Reality of True Gender Equality
Having said all that, I don’t believe that women have to be sent to death. No one has to be, yet humans seem to be obsessed with waging wars. The thing is, when there’s a war at the doorstep men don’t have a choice, women do. Despite feminists’ claims to fight for equality and gender-based discrimination they do it only when it suits them. Feminism claims to advocate for equality but often overlooks men’s rights, especially in the context of warfare.
The war in Ukraine highlights this hypocrisy, with men forced to fight while women can leave. Feminists demand rights without taking on equal responsibilities, revealing their selective approach to equality. True equality means sharing both rights and responsibilities, not just picking what suits you. Men’s Lives Matter.
